Welcome to Properazzi.
I have started this blog with the intention of springboarding (or as is the fashionable phrase these days "pivoting") from the Unconditional blog which I founded and authored for nearly 5 years and over that time comprised over 800 articles.
The Unconditional blog was established to provide the website of Realestate.co.nz with a platform to provide insight and commentary on the propert market. The blog became the publishing vehicle for the NZ Property Report and the Property Pulse factsheets.
The Unconditional blog became a personal passion I leveraged in my role as CEO of Realestate.co.nz which helped establish to the company as an authoritative commentator on the market and a neutral party in analysing the market.
That era is now passed as I am no longer the CEO of Realestate.co.nz. The restructuring of the company as implemented by the board of the company resulted in the removal of my role of CEO and my recent departure. Six years of commitment and passionate dedication to the role and the business helped to provide the real estate industry (who ultimately were the owners of the website) with a world-leading website and latterly the leading mobile application for real estate in NZ.
Over the years the company grew from 2 people to 15 people and from simply a listings portal into a vital and valuable online marketing platform for the industry.
I will always be proud of what collectively the team at Realestate.co.nz created - equally I am disappointed that the relationship with the company has ended. However the business world is ever this way and my intention is to see the future as an opportunity to build further from what I have achieved.
The first passion I wish to fulfil is to continue blogging and that is why I have started Properazzi. With this blog I hope to fulfil my desire to provide a commentary on the market, some on-going analysis of the market and what I hope will be insightful and challenging opinion on the market. I am not in this situation, hampered by any obligations to shareholders or boards, I am my own editor, publisher and owner. I hope and believe that will establish an open and honest approach to this blog.
